My friend Jen recently commissioned me to create a set of onesies for her friend’s baby shower, using artwork from The Little Prince. What a cute book! With so many great images to choose from it was difficult to decide on just two, but luckily time inhibited me from working on more than that. The asteroid is mainly hand painted, with the black outline silk screened over top. The Baobab is completely hand painted. More onesies to come I hope!

My new spring line for Petrune is out in full effect! Strapless styles are all the rage this season, so I made dresses with both slim, straight skirts and full, gathered skirts. Perfect for a summer wedding, prom, or any occasion where you want to look fabulous.

Two of the styles in the store right now are made with hand printed fabric of my design, like these gold and black tree dresses. Referencing ’80s diva glamor (but with an updated edge), these dresses have a subtly angular bodice and pleated tulip skirt. Wowzers.

I recently fixed up my friend Stephanie’s brown leather purse from Urban Outfitters. After just a few weeks of wear, the thin (and boring) lining fabric had already torn and frayed. So, not wanting to throw the purse in the trash, she asked me if I could replace the lining. After a week or two of procrastinating, fearing that I would ruin the whole thing, I finally got around to fixing it and discovered that it was not nearly as hard as I feared. I dare say – it was fun! I chose one of my favorite Amy Butler prints called Lotus for the new lining- I just love it when the inside of a purse pops out at you unexpectedly. What a great way to save a nice bag from the trash can.

I was pleased to create these lovely journals for Sarah and Steve’s wedding this April. They were looking for gifts for their large bridal party, and decided on 29 of these lovely Moleskine notebooks in green and brown, the coordinating colors for their wedding. I made this woodgrain design especially for Sarah, which was a great creative kick in the pants that got me working on a new design. It was one of the more difficult designs I’ve ever done, but the results are so lovely I forget all about that.

Find me at the indoor Winter Market.

Just when you thought there was nothing to live for in the month of January, the Winter Market appears! Through the months of January and February you can find most of your regular Ithaca Farmer’s Market vendors (and yours truly) at the Women’s Community Building from 11-2. The WCB is located in downtown Ithaca on the corner of Seneca and Cayuga Streets. It’s just the thing to shake those winter blahs. See you there!
